19 of Medvedev's 21 victories have been won on hard surfaces

A resurgent Medvedev won his initial championship for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition final.

Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a torrid period, managing just one win at the big events and undergoing a setback at the American major.

The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in specific - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and finally splitting with long-term coach Cervara.

Now training with his coach and his other coach, he has gradually improved in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set victory over opponent Moutet.

This marks his first trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt after March of that year.

The win also indicates he has achieved twenty-one titles at twenty-one various competitions.

"It's the first time I'm at a tournament with my two daughters at once, so to win a championship is really nice," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I got when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his previous six title deciders, featuring in that event previously this season.

Medvedev's retrieving strategy and regular outbursts on the tennis court had prompted some to wonder if his ability to compete at the highest level was concluded.

However the athlete has implemented adjustments in the past month, attempting to advance forward and compete assertively, backed up by an improved serve.

The champion recovered from a break down in the first set against the challenging opponent, securing four of the final five games to take the lead.

The pair traded service breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first tour victory, gained dominance to create a third set.

Moutet saved four early chances in a close third set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to serve for the match.

Fittingly, the winner earned the win with a point at the net area, with Moutet incapable to control a shot after a lengthy match.
